About This Piece

The Shoulder Birkin changes the familiar Birkin proportions: its 42 cm width sits above a relatively shallow 23 cm height, while the longer handles allow shoulder carrying. This Square M example is made in Denim Blue Togo calfskin; “Denim Blue” identifies the leather colour rather than a textile. Hermès describes Togo’s rounded, irregular grain as the result of intensive drumming. The front straps and turnlock remain from the original Birkin design, and a lock, keys and clochette accompany the bag.
